Daily Journey: Day 145
This Belongs to God
Scripture (ESV)
“Present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life…” — Romans 6:13
Consecration sounds like a big religious word, but the truth underneath it is simple: this belongs to God.
Your body belongs to God. Your time belongs to God. Your future, your gifts, your work, your relationships, your hidden life — all of it. Consecration is not giving God a little more access. It is admitting He already has the right to the whole thing.
We like portions because portions let us stay in control. A little prayer. A little obedience. A little spiritual life sitting beside everything else. Consecration tears that arrangement apart.
Paul says to present yourself to God as someone brought from death to life. You are not paying Him back. You are responding to rescue. Your life is no longer yours in the same way it once was.
Why this matters
If you keep entire parts of your life outside God’s ownership, those untouched places will keep shaping you. Consecration brings the whole person under His purpose.
Reflection
What part of your life are you still treating like it belongs only to you?
Word of the Day
Consecration: Presenting your whole life to God as belonging to Him and set apart for His purposes.
