Daily Journey: Day 159
Worship Is How You Stand Before God
Scripture (ESV)
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31
Worship already became bigger than singing earlier in the journey. That had to happen, because worship can’t stay trapped inside a service. Now the word comes back as posture.
Worship is how you stand before God in everything.
You can do the right action with the wrong center. You can serve for attention. Give for control. Lead for approval. Work for identity. Worship doesn’t only ask what you’re doing. It asks who the action is really for.
Paul brings worship all the way down into eating and drinking. That’s about as ordinary as it gets. Which means there’s no throwaway part of life where God’s glory doesn’t matter. The meal, the meeting, the workout, the conversation, the decision, the hidden task — all of it can be lived before Him.
A worship posture says, “This moment is not ultimately about me.” Not my image. Not my comfort. Not my need to be seen. God is worthy here too.
Why this matters
If worship is only an activity, self-centeredness can keep ruling the rest of your life. But when worship becomes posture, even ordinary actions can be turned toward God’s glory.
Reflection
What ordinary part of your day are you still living as though it belongs only to you?
Word of the Day
Worship: The posture of living every ordinary moment before God for His glory rather than your own.
“Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)
