Daily Journey: Day 193
You Don’t Need the Whole Map
Scripture (ESV)
“For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.” — 1 Corinthians 14:33
There have been plenty of moments when I wanted God to make the whole thing clear before I moved. I wanted to know how the decision would work out and what would happen after that. Most of the time, I didn’t get that.
Confusion gets heavy when we start believing clarity means knowing everything. Sometimes you simply don’t. You may have several reasonable options, and Scripture isn’t going to hand you the name of the company to hire or the exact date to make a move. That’s where wisdom becomes real.
But I’ve also noticed something else. We can use confusion about the big picture to avoid something that’s already pretty clear. Maybe you don’t know the whole direction yet, but you do know you need to tell the truth. You know what integrity requires in the next conversation. You know the next decision can’t be built on manipulation.
God is not confused just because you are. You can take a faithful step without seeing the whole road.
Why this matters
Demanding total clarity can become another way of delaying obedience. Sometimes God gives enough light for the next step and asks you to trust Him with the rest.
Reflection
What is already clear even though the bigger picture isn’t?
Word of the Day
Confusion: A lack of clarity that becomes dangerous when uncertainty keeps you from obeying what you already know.
