Daily Journey: Day 164
Truth Has to Get Into Your Body
Scripture (ESV)
“Glorify God in your body.” — 1 Corinthians 6:20
Embodiment is where truth stops living only in your head.
You can agree with patience and still speak harshly. You can believe in humility and still need to win every room. You can preach dependence and still run your body like it has no limits. That’s the gap. We can hold truth mentally while our actual life keeps moving in another direction.
Embodiment means truth starts showing up in your tone, habits, schedule, reactions, body, and presence. Not just in what you say you believe. In how you actually move through the world under pressure.
Paul says to glorify God in your body. That sentence doesn’t let us pretend the body is a side issue. Your sleep, appetite, speech, pace, work, rest, sexuality, strength, weakness, and limits all belong to God. You don’t become more spiritual by acting like you’re not embodied.
Leadership needs this kind of honesty. People can feel the gap between what you say and what you carry. Embodiment closes that gap over time.
Why this matters
If truth stays only in your thoughts, your actual life can keep contradicting it. But when truth becomes embodied, your presence begins to carry what your mouth confesses.
Reflection
Where does your body or daily life still disagree with what you believe?
