Daily Journey: Day 100
You Saw What Was Really There
Scripture (ESV)
“Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.” — Luke 24:45
There are moments where things move from being unclear to being obvious. Not because the situation changed, but because something in you did. What felt confusing before suddenly makes sense. What you couldn’t see becomes clear.
And when that happens, it’s not something you force. You don’t manufacture insight. You receive it. It comes as something is opened up, not something you create on your own.
That’s what makes insight different. It’s not just thinking harder or paying more attention. It’s seeing what was already there, but hidden from you before. And when that happens before God, you realize something important—you don’t generate clarity. You’re given it.
And once you see it, everything shifts. Not dramatically, not all at once, but enough that you can’t go back to seeing things the same way again.
Why this matters
If you think clarity depends on your effort alone, you’ll either force it or give up when it doesn’t come. But when you recognize that insight is given, you begin to stay open and positioned instead of trying to control it.
Reflection
When clarity comes, do you recognize it as something you received—or something you produced?
Word of the Day
Insight: The clear understanding that comes when something is revealed rather than created.
